Another historical sight in Israel that I have been to recently was Jaffa, Tel-Aviv, the place is locally known as, Yafo, from the Hebrew word yafa meaning beauty. It is, considered as, the oldest city in the whole world and according to Christian historians, Jaffa was named after one of Noah's three sons, Japhet, who built the city after the flood.

9 Vote(s)

Penitencia or Flagellation is one of the more barbaric type of showing repentance, people do this for the atonement of their sins and a means of asking forgiveness for past weaknesses and misgivings. This act rooted from an episode in the Passion of Christ, when Pontious Pilate condemned Him, He was flogged to the point of physical degradation before His crucifixion. This practice is evident in celebration of Holy Week in the Philippines and Latin America.

8 Vote(s)

Tagaytay Picnic grove is nestled on a hill overlooking the Taal Volcano and the coastal town of Batangas. Budget travelers and city-dwellers flocked here on weekends to have that special family picnic, entrance fee is at 25php, for kids and adults alike, parking fee is at 45php and depending on the number of your group you can choose to rent a picnic table, shed or pavilion, we opted for the shed which cost us 150php, but, if you're really thrifty, you can just bring a big mat and have your picnic on the ground.Various facilities can be found on the resort, conference rooms, meeting rooms, restaurants - Alamat Restaurant and Bar which serves ala carte menu and the View Deck Restaurant, a good place for parties and seminars; souvenir shops and other food stores; a butterfly sanctuary, biking, skating, and horse-back riding area, and children's playground; there's the newly-added Eco-Adventure Trail, a 404-meter trail which will test your stamina, I drank liters of water after we had this hike *grins*.

14 Vote(s)

Autumn's starting to bid farewell, after baring all the trees and painting this part of the world brown, it's taking a glorious bow and ushering in the colorful spring. Spring is my favorite season next to winter, when all the flowers are in full bloom, standing elegantly while sashaying in the wind, making love with the bees, teasing the butterflies and making me see that life is promising and beautiful. One of the most awaited sight of the season, in my opinion, is the Snowdrop, a white flower with green dots on the tip of each petals, it stands majestically in the garden but when the wind blows and plays her favorite tune, she will dance gracefully all day to the wonderment of everyone, including me.

13 Vote(s)
