We have all seen these symbols of the over-achiever, in office buildings and doctors offices alike. The kitten hanging on by a limb and the inspirational "Hang In There" motto. Some of these inspirational posters or signs are actually quite good, although I have yet to have one inspire me to do much more than sit on my ass and read.I have always associated these things with the plastic smile wearing , over achieving, corporate suit & tie kind of guy. The kind of guy who's employees and co-workers all have some sort of derogatory comment to make when he isn't around because when you cut through the veneer, he's just an asshole. All that aside, I was sent a small slew of spoof posters, that mock the inspirational poster and quite well in some cases. While some of these were nothing new to me others were not only new but quite hilarious. I hope you all enjoy these as much as I did!

16 Vote(s)

It took me a while to come around. Not that I walked away from my first Cloverfield viewing disappointed or even unhappy, but something about it was a little ehhh' for me that first time. I loved a lot about it but something about it wasn't quite right.A couple of weeks later I managed to find a cam version of the film online, so I downloaded it and was surprised to see that I enjoyed it a bit more the second time. Which is saying a lot considering, it was only a cam version. The third time I found myself watching it, I knew I was hooked. Why?

10 Vote(s)

America, when will you wake up to face this simple fact? So many American's get caught up in defending against the erosion of our basic civil liberties that they have forgotten that with this awesome power and privilege we call freedom comes serious responsibilities to themselves and to the very fabric of the society we have labored so hard to nourish and build. Case in point: Kyla Ebbert. This morning I caught Matt Lauer which was a very rare moment for me as I usually try to fill my morning time with less depressing viewing than what the news media usually provides. Matt had Kyla, along with her mother and her lawyer, on the show explaining how she was refused the right to a seat on a flight based solely on how she was dressed. She was wearing the same outfit on his show she wore that day and Matt had her stand up for the viewing audience. She wore what a lot of people would call a typical college-aged girls outfit; a white, short sleeved blouse with a light, green/aqua colored sweater over it followed by a white short, short mini-skirt. The skirt was the type that looks like a pair of jeans someone cut the legs and crotch out of to make into a just-barely-enough-there-to-cover-you-up skirt.

10 Vote(s)

I said, WHAT??!! What was that?!' So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.' She responded to my puzzled look by saying, Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?' Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep. The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big brand name department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different, very expensive, outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, Lets get a pair for each outfit.'

9 Vote(s)

I ran across this article in the Chicago Sun Times and once again was struck with how obvious it has become that American's are in the midst of a seriously dangerous decline into a hellish world. Thats assuming anyone survives the ride long enough to regret the destination.Apparently, we have reached a point where the lines between adulthood and childhood have blurred to where many feel there is no true distinction between the two at all.The issue is actually simple enough; Evanston Township High School (along with a few others) has decided to enact a ban on "juking" or in lay mans terms "Dirty Dancing". Now I'm not talking about your Momma's dirty dancing here. No tango, salsa, meringueand definitely no Patrick Swayze here. I'm talking down-n-dirty, in a club on a Saturday night, rubbing your ass as hard as you can on some strange man's cock and ballsor what some of us "older" and "out of touch" folks used to call "heavy petting".

9 Vote(s)

Seriously, I'm starting to think a monkey and my little sister could make better decisions using a Ouija board. How is it that we have a sports team in arguably the largest sports market in the country and yet; * We can't have our own Stadium - Doomed to sharing a stadium with the Giants, presumably forever now, I can't help but think that this is a huge sign of what the people holding the reins in Jets land really think of the franchise and it's potential. Seriously, how much pride do you think they have if having a home of their own is not of any importance? When even the owner is willing to treat the franchise like an after-thought, what makes you think anyone else on the payroll is going to care? Chris Drury just scored to make it 2-1 in the second against San Jose. I'm finding it quite hard to give a fuck about Roger & his steroids issues.A lot of it has to do with exactly what my buddy, 2Cups, pointed out recently. Why the hell is Congress involved in all this? Haven't we got bigger, more pressing issues at hand? Like say, avoiding the fall of Western civilization by getting off of foreign oil reserves before we hit our oil break point? Most experts say that is what will ultimately bring down the Untied States into a potential third world state. Worse is they expect, based on our current rate and growth of oil consumption, to hit this break point within the next 1 to 2 decades! This means within our lifetimes. Certainly in the lifetimes of our children and like in the early years of their lives. Anybody want that? Anyone? That sounds like something Congress should be talking more about on TV, hmm?

10 Vote(s)

I admit I have not heard all of the testimonies. I only caught about 15 - 20 minutes of the live stuff and since then it's been nothing but snippets & video sound bites on ESPN. Even though I am a die-hard Yankees fan and love what The Rocket has done for ushe is looking a bit shaky to me. Like I said though, I haven't really seen the whole thing. So far I've seen Clemens opening statement. It was a good strong statement in my opinion. It emphasized his strong moral background and work ethic, his commitment to and love for the game. It certainly painted him in a very flattering light. No doubt at this point in the hearing, the Senators were at least moderately impressed with his opening grandeur. He was adamant about never using HGH and he gave every appearance of total self assurance. He told about the tons of work with charities and kids he done through the yearshe's a freaking saint! That's exactly what I thought until I started to see the snippets with Clemens sitting there looking more and more uncomfortable. I don't want to get into a full commentary here until I see this thing in context, but boy it sure isn't looking good on the TV. This article is absolutely right on and quite hilariousunless you're a Patriots fan. Then it probably isn't so funny. Whatever. As a life long Jets fan, I find it hard to drum up any sympathy for the 3 time champs. These guys have 3 Super Bowl wins in the last like 7 years, my team is so desperate to relive past glory they've even dusted off Joe Namath's uniformand proceeded to stain it with pitiful on-field play.Nope, not much sympathy for the team out of Foxboro. Those New England folks have had 2 World Series wins in this decade to go along with the string of Super Bowl rings, so as far as I'm concerned they can keep their bitching and moaning to themselves.

11 Vote(s)

Okay, so it took me a day or so to collect my wits and address the incredible, unfathomable, totally out-f'n-rageous game the New York football Giants played to snatch victory from the greedy hands of the juggernaut New England Patriots to win Super Bowl XLII. A game that shall go down in sports history as one of the greatest ever played.I have never been a fan of the Giants; I will admit that up front. The organization as a whole has always garnered the spotlight, not even giving a slight glimmer to the other hometown team - the New York Jets. I root for the underdog by nature so I have always favored the low profile, working-class Jets over the prima donna, media darling, me-first Giants. I have to say, after watching the incredible finish to this football season that I may actually be ready to believe that the selfish attitude may have actually disappeared from the locker room and paved the way for an actual team mentality. The Giants looked like they came together to play the Super Bowl as a bona fide team, supporting each other rather than playing for their own glory. That's what it takes to beat the Patriots, and that's what the Giants accomplished.

10 Vote(s)

Well whaddaya know? I'm a Democrat?!! According to this tool ("tool", heh heh), I am in alignment on a lot of key issues with presidential hopeful and former senator John Edwards. Who knew? I'll admit Edwards seems likable enough, but would I actually lend him my vote?Thankfully, I am relieved of such serious decisions because the rest of you have ruled him out as an option - nice guys finish last ya know. But, like my compatriot here, this tool did make me think about a lot of these issues and about the remaining candidates. I, too, have come away from all this looking to McCain to become our nation's 44th president, but in all honesty, he's the "default" option.

8 Vote(s)

I know you're not supposed to talk about taboo topics such as politics, religion or anything to do with women's rights because you're just asking for trouble and there are supposedly no "right" answers, yet we all know that these subjects come up frequently enough that it pays to have an informed opinion about them. Here's another b.s. topic that comes up a lot yet no one seems to have a clear answer - internet file sharing, namely the illegal downloading and sharing of big label music and movies. Illegal? Immoral? Unethical? Understandable? Pro? Con? What gives? Well, I'm here with my 2Cents to chime in on the subject and offer what I believe to be the absolute correct opinion.

11 Vote(s)

So by now you've all heard the rumor/truth that Patrick Swayze may/may not have 5 weeks to live due to a losing battle with pancreatic cancer (one of the bad ones). The National Enquirer broke the story but it was internet buzz that made it the hot topic to discuss.I've never met him, since I don't leave my cave, but I'd have to say he's always seemed like a decent, good natured person. Certainly, anyone who can mock themselves like the SNL Chippendales skit with Chris Farley is definitely grounded and add to that the superb work in the ridiculous To Wong Foo and I'm laughing right along with him. He'll always be linked to the chick-flick staples Ghost & Dirty Dancing (gack) but he'll go down in guy movie history for Road House and the legendary (WOLVERINES!!!) Red Dawn, a movie so great it gives a free pass to anyone involved in it (yes, even you C. Thomas Howell, relax).

8 Vote(s)

Today is the premiere of the highly anticipated movie Cloverfield. Such a strange name for a sci-fi / monster flick. Hardly seems pertinent actually, but like the rest of the country and presumably the world, I have been anxiously waiting for the chance to see and finally figure out what "it" is.So of course, I set out into the blog-o-sphere to see what I could find and came across this post from, Nicki, a NYC blogger. Apparently, she was privy to a special screening and wrote up an excellent, spoiler free review.First off, I was surprised to find out this was filmed using hand-held camcorders ala The Blair Witch Project. This bit of info scared me at first. I enjoyed TBWP, it was totally different and certainly had just enough to grab me. Having said that though, it is hard for me to imagine this gimmick working in too many scenarios. Being that I tend to despise todays penchant for wildly moving cameras, especially during great action sequences, I immediately thought the worst. Nicki's review shows she had the same reservations and I was pleased to find she had no trouble with the amateur cam' technique. This is good because I must say that alone would have had me waiting for DVD or even In Demand release.

11 Vote(s)

You'd have to be hiding under a pretty big rock not to be inundated with the 2008 US Presidential Election coverage in the media and online. And I'm sure it'll only get worse as the year progresses. For those of you who still are wondering which way to go for the upcoming Presidential election, or perhaps you can't decide between two particular candidates, I found this great tool. Now I'm not advocating you let a piece of javascript decide your vote for you, but this tool is a great way to put the candidates into a context you can use to help decide.Speaking for myself, Ron Paul is the man that I think has the best attitude and solutions for this country. With few exceptions, like pulling out of Iraq immediately for instance, I find my Libertarian tendencies line up perfectly with Senator Paul's stance on the issues. However, Paul's nomination by the GOP is extremely unlikely, so I find myself stuck in trying to make a pick from a selection of candidates I only kinda agree with. I suspect I am not alone in this dilemma.Without the use of the tool I found myself leaning towards Senator McCain. Unfortunately, the only reason I could honestly give was that something about Romney, Huckabee & the entire Democratic side that I just don't fully trust. Using the tool helped me see on an issue by issue basis, who I am most in alignment with. As it turns out my gut instincts turned out to be very accurate as far as this tool is concerned. It showed John McCain to be one of the candidates who I still share a good chunk of views with. While I am still far from a permanent decision, I'll be honest, this tool has helped me quite a bit in clearing the cob webs, so to speak.Try it out. See where it takes you. You just might be surprised.

10 Vote(s)

Hello all! Sorry to be away for the last few days, but I have had nothing but troubles with my server. Apparently, my little ole blog is creating a real mess for my web host. No clue why my blog would be such an issue, but it seems that it causes my cpu usage to exceed it's limit of 4.5%. I am trying to find a way to stop that and have kinda butchered some of my previous posts in order to limit the size of my index page. I should point out, least someone think I am slagging my host service, that the help desk there is top notched! I want to thank Nick for all the leg work and investigation he did in helping me figure out what was going on before I got myself kicked off for good. Keep up the good work Nicknice to know there are people out there who still believe in doing a good job.By far my biggest complaint is actually about WordPress itself. I figured if my server is having trouble handling this, I'll just ease on over to WordPress.comproblem solved right? I couldn't have been more wrong if I was cruising for a date in a daycare.First off, I was surprised to see how much less I got from WordPress directly than I did from my own installation of it. I can't use my own theme. They have no options for plug-ins. Just those two things alone make for a huge sacrifice in going from my own server to theirs. I am losing all the little things that made it cool in the first place. Plus what is the deal with the code tags?

9 Vote(s)

I don't know a whole lot about Rachel Bilson so I can't begin to explain why she is the most sought after subject on this morning's Yahoo searches. From what I can tell, she's a young actress who's greatest claim to fame was starring in a mediocre FOX teen drama "The O.C." I see she is currently in the new (don't call me cardboard) Hayden Christensen sci-fi thriller "Jumper". So why are the internet masses seeking her out?A quick search reveals she is sute enough to pop up on the major men's magazine hottie lists. She scored a respectable 78 from Askmen.com and is currently #88 on the FHM Top 100 list (here's the obligatory Stuff link).

9 Vote(s)

I have decided to give blogging for money a shot. I have already given blogging for AdSense clicks a try and that's been a bit like mining for gold during the 1849 gold rush....only the guy selling miners tools is getting rich. So I looked around the net for ways to get paid for blogging and after a while of looking around, I came across Smorty.com in blog directory, BlogCatalog.com.Smorty.com is a service that hooks up bloggers with advertisers in much the same way services like AdBrite.com do. In a nut shell, bloggers looking to get paid to blog, sign up for the service and once their blog site is approved, can sign in to see the latest 'job' opportunities their site gets offered. These opportunities are also emailed to the blogger. From the advertisers side of things it works much the same. An advertiser looking to advertise on blogs, signs up and is presumably provided a list of qualifying sites. They then choose sites to submit offers too, detailing the specifics of what they expect to see in the post. Being that I am not looking to do blog advertising, I only signed up as a blogger.

12 Vote(s)

I popped in from time to time during commercial breaks while watching the much more thrilling Rock of Love, Part 2 and although I think Jon Stewart can be witty, I was immediately put off by his "vote Democrat" spiel so I didn't stay long.Of course, this morning you'd be hard pressed to avoid any mention of who won what last night & as such I hear that "Juno" won a best original screenplay award for Diablo Cody, the sex blogger turned Hollywood darling.

11 Vote(s)

Holy Cow! I can't believe the traffic I have been getting from my favorite little slut. People are going ape-shit searching for pictures of that skank and the traffic to my blog has been quite incredible. Kyla Ebbert, you may remember, was the skanky whore who decided it's totally cool to wear a super, short skirt on a South West flight a while back.Normally this surge in traffic would be quite welcome but it seems rather sad how famous super slut has become. Far be it for me to complain about traffic of any sort. Today alone I have gotten over 180 uniques from her alone and it's only 9 am. The world truly loves a slutty, whore. Especially if she is willing to let everyone have a taste.Ever since she announced she was going to appear nude in Playboy, people have just been clamoring to get a peek.

10 Vote(s)

While I wouldn't have said he was the best actor I ever saw, I did and do think he was a very good actor with the potential to be great. Many would say this was evident in his Oscar nominated performance in Brokeback Mountain, a movie I never did see.Heath had just finished filming his role, as the Joker, in the upcoming and highly anticipated sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight. I can't say for sure if this role would have been the one to push him into marquee movie star status, but the point is now moot as his fame is now all but insured ala Brandon Lee in The Crow.

13 Vote(s)
